A trip into
the woods turns into a terrifying battle against the forces of evil. Mia is a
heroin addict whose most recent overdose was nearly her last. Recognizing that
she won't survive another, Mia's longtime friends Olivia and Eric take the
troubled girl to her family's old cabin in the woods to quit cold turkey. It
isn't their first attempt, but this time they're hoping that with Mia's brother
David around;that Mia will make a full
recovery.
David and Eric
discover what appears to be the scene of a dark ritual. Scattered amongst the
animal corpses and mysterious artifacts is an old book that's been sealed shut
with heavy-duty plastic and barbed wire. Intrigued, Eric manages to cut the
book free and makes a disturbing discovery -- the book has been bound in human
flesh, and it comes with an incantation that will unleash a powerful force of
evil.
Eric reads the
words aloud, sealing his own dark fate, as well as those of his closest
friends. One by one they will be possessed until no soul has been left
unclaimed.
I must say I
have never seen the original, so I can’t compare. I really loved this movie because it scared
the bleep out of me. I would dare to say that this is probably one of the best
horror movies to come out in the last couple of years. The acting wasn't good
for the most part, but it is a horror movie, so its forgiven.
There is
PLENTY of blood/gore in the movie, and several jump off your seat scenes; an
arm being cut off, a hand being ripped off, a hand being blown off, etc. On top
of that is, it is deep down spine-chilling. This was a good movie, and better
than I expected. I highly recommend it to any horror fan.
For this post, I will only be focusing on
the very last "Chucky" movie. Later as we get
to number 1, I will post my other 2 favorite "Chucky"
movies.
Nica, a young woman forced to a
wheelchair since birth, has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law,
Ian for a funeral after the death of her mother.
While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with
their 5-year-old daughter, Alice; Nica receives an odd package - a creepy Good
Guys doll named Chucky. After Nica's family start showing up dead, the fearless
Nica soon suspects that the creepy Good Guys doll is much more than just a
doll. Of course we all know it isn't just an ordinary doll; It is Chucky and
Chucky means trouble!
I have always been a huge fan of the
child's play films except for the last two ones. This film however, brings back
the franchise by going back to it's roots and also adding some new twists that
makes this film stand out. For a direct to DVD film (which I thought was
stupid) it was a very well made film.
It's really hard to make Chucky scary
again when so many people are familiar with them but this film does not fail.
The kills can be a little over the top but that shouldn't put any horror fan
off watching it.
The story is the best thing about this
film because it seems to continue from the very first one, which was waaay back
in the 80's.
Overall though, this is a truly amazing
sequel that deserve a cinema release rather than just a DVD release. It
delivers everything that the first film did plus a little more. Oh and it even
shows us Andy! Andy, the little boy who starred in the first Child's Play.
ENJOY THE TRAILER!!!

#12 : The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003):
I know there are about 5 movies of these, but I will strictly do the 2003 version. Why? Because its the only one I like out of the other ones they have made. Well, the original was also good, but not as good as this remake.
A group of young adults are on their way to a concert in Dallas. They cross through a small, ghost town named Travis County. As they are driving, they see a troubled woman on the road and decide to pick her up. Once in the van, the woman shoots herself with a gun.
Looking for the local authorities, the group travels through the town, meeting the locals. One by one, they are picked off by a strange man with a demented face.
Realizing that they are in mortal danger, they must escape from the town from a family of cannibals and a chainsaw-wielding madman known as LEATHER FACE!!!
OK, I really did not want to see this movie when it first came out because I had heard it was based on a true story. I had done some research on it and discovered it was all a hoax, but it was based on Ed Gein (A famous American killer and body snatcher). Anyways, I thought this remake was done very well, it was very scary and the killings were very brutal ( Not a fan of the killings).
I loved how Leather face's family was all in on his atrocious killings and how they help him capture their victim. To sum it up, I enjoyed this movie and I dare to say, its better than the original!!!
I was supposed to do this movie in slots 3 or 4, but I saw it yesterday, so I decided today...
BASED ON A TRUE STORY (SUPPOSELY)
Ok so the movie is set In 1971. A man named Roger Perron and his wife Carolyn move to an old farmhouse in Rhode Island with their daughters Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy and April ( back then, families were huge). The family finds a hidden basement which the entrance is locked with planks. Soon they are haunted by noises and ghosts; your classical ghost movie. In desperate cries to help save her and her family, Carolyn meets the famous paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren.
They visit the house and Lorraine and Ed feel that the house is possessed by evil entities. Their further investigation shows that a witch had sacrificed her baby to the devil and has possessed other mothers that lived in the real estate to kill their children. Lorraine and Ed bring his friends Drew and Brad to help them to collect evidences to convince the Church that it is necessary an exorcism to save The Perron family from these evil entities!!!
So, what do I think of this movie???
Well, I remember seeing this movie when it first came out in theatres and I screamed like a girl the whole time lol. It takes alot to scare me, but this movie, along with the excorcistOntop of that, the acting was outstanding from the Perron family to the Warrens. The only thing that kind of bothers me is the fact that it resembles many aspects of The Amityville horror, which in real life, The Warrens also took that case. If you are a horror fan and you havent seen this movie, what are you waiting for??? Its a MUST!!!
